The support is molded in, and it doesn't come out
Look at it side on. That rise under the arch and the dip under the heel aren't padding sitting on a flat sole, they're shaped into the footbed itself. Aetrex calls it Signature Arch Support and says it's positioned at the apex of the arch to help relieve heel and arch pain.
The flip side is the part nobody puts on a product page: the footbed doesn't lift out. Aetrex publishes that its sandals, wedges and cork styles have non-removable footbeds. If you already wear a prescribed orthotic, there's nowhere for it to go, and that's worth knowing before you order rather than after. Call us and we'll either tell you this is enough support on its own or put you in something with a removable insole.
