I have fitted shoes in Matthews for over thirty years, and Orthofeet is the brand I reach for when a customer needs room and support in the same pair. Every style is built on an extra-depth last, so the toe box is wide and there is space above the foot. The insole comes out, so a custom orthotic drops in without crowding your toes. We stock Medium, Wide and X-Wide in every style, in men's sizes 7 to 14 and women's 5 to 12.

The hands-free heel is what most people come in asking about. You step down on the heel counter, it gives, then springs back around your heel. No bending, and on laced styles you tie them once and leave them tied. That matters if you have a bad back, a new hip or knee, are pregnant, or simply cannot reach your feet anymore. For men, the pairs that sell are the Onyx work shoe and the Verno boot. For women I would start with the Wander leather sneaker or the Nira stretch sneaker.
