If you stand or walk for a living, your feet never get a break, so the shoe has to carry more of the load. For work I start with the Orthofeet Onyx and Graphite for men and the Quartz for women, which have protective toes and a hands-free heel, and then add a memory foam orthotic for a cushioned layer that keeps its shape through the day. Good socks matter more than people expect, because a snug, cushioned sock keeps the foot from sliding around inside the shoe by the end of a shift.
